Q. I just booked my session with you.  Now what?

A. Congratulations and a big thank you for choosing us to capture your moments!  We will be getting in touch with you within 24 hours to guide you through the process of booking a session.  After choosing a date and time that works, we will hold a pre-session consultation for you to ask us any questions you may have or for us to get to know you a little better.  This may be conducted through emails, meeting for coffee or whatever works best for you to feel comfortable!  We look forward to getting to meet you and becoming your friends!

Q.  What should we wear to our session?

A.  In general, most colors are great; however, keep in mind that white does not photograph particularly well.  For sessions with more than one person, make sure that patterns are not clashing or too busy.  Most importantly, wear things that you feel great in!  We want to capture you feeling and looking your best.

Q. Are you two willing to travel?

A. YES!  We love travelling and are willing to go just about anywhere.  For further pricing and information, please contact us here or at

Q. How does payment work?  What forms of payment do you accept?

A.  For most sessions, payment in full is due at the time of your session.  For weddings, please see below.  At this point, we are only able to accept cash or credit cards.

Q. When can I book my newborn session? What do I need to do before my session to prepare and do I need to bring anything?

A. The best time to book your newborn session is about 2 months from your due date (about the time you’ll be doing your maternity session).  When baby arrives, contact us right away so we can schedule a session within the first 10 days of life.  The optimal time is between 5 and 10 days of life.

Try to have baby stay awake in the hour or so before the session begins and feed them approximately 15 minutes before arriving.  Bring baby in a diaper in order to facilitate undressing them with the least amount of movement possible.  Usually, we will not need you to bring anything for the session unless you have something special you’d like to incorporate, like grandma’s quilt or dad’s baseball mitt.  We will provide blankets, heaters and props.  If anything else is necessary, it can be brought up in the pre-session consultation.

Q. What do I need to do during my newborn baby’s session?

A.  Sit back and relax!  We will typically do all the handling of baby (don’t worry, we are well-trained and practiced in handling newborns!) – this helps them to stay asleep.  If they start to sense mom, they may begin to want her whether they are hungry or not and this will keep them awake.  Newborn photographs are best when babies are sleeping.

Q. How long do we have to wait to see our photos?

A.  Typically, we will post sneak peeks on Facebook within a few days of your session and then post some of our favorite photos on our blog within a few weeks.  Your photos should take no longer than 2-4 weeks to be delivered to you, depending on our work load.

Q. How do I lock in a date for my wedding?

A. When planning your wedding, choosing a photographer to capture your big day can be a difficult decision!  Contact us as soon as possible to see if we are available for your date.  If we are free, a 50% deposit will be required to hold your date.  The remainder will be due 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Fallon - I am looking to schedule a 1yr momma/baby nursing photo shoot. I don’t see anything like that in your portfolio but I thought I’d ask to see if you might. Our bub will be one in February. Thank you!ReplyCancel
